Alain L Gauthier, RPT, Facilitator & Course Developer
My name is Alain Gauthier. I am the owner, course developer and main facilitator for courses online at various other web site. This web site was built to integrate and make available all of my courses under one place. This way, you will be able to access all the courses you may be interested in with one login, one payment system and one newsletter service.
I have been facilitating learning for teens and adults since 1984, in small & large classrooms, seminars and one on one training sessions. My passion, as always is helping people make the most of the potential they have and this includes making the most of the technology available to them. Often the I. T. industry has been making software that, instead of saving time, has ended confusing and wasting time of the end users. Look at Microsoft Office as an example, over the last 10 years MS Word has added very few features useful for word processing. However, the user interface has gone more complicated and to aggravate things more, some of the tasks we do every day in word processing are now more difficult to find between each new version released.
Over my many years as an IT Consultant I have had hundreds of calls for office workers that could no longer find the feature they were using just a few days before. The only thing that had happened is that there was an ‘upgrade’ to Ms Office. Now, let me be clear here, Microsoft is a great software company and their products are fine but their ‘user interface design’ is run by geeks for geeks. And, to make matters worse, most software companies are the same. Our goal on this web site is to offer you online courses that are:
- focused on teaching you one task at a time, no need to listen to a 45 minute lecture to find out how to add pagination to your document
- very clear instructions, we will use video, screen captures or graphics to teach you -whatever is the most appropriate for the learning situation
- we offer you access to our forum, where you can ask or read questions that other people asked with complete privacy
- we will keep our pricing very affordable. We can do that because each of our tutorial is being so focused and short that or production cost is low
- we will cover all current versions of software to the extend that we have access to licensed copies and that there is a demand for the tutorial.
Lloyd B. Kenney, Facilitator
Lloyd graduated from the School of Agriculture, University of Saskatchewan in 1963. He was subsequently employed for 35 years by a major Western Canadian manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing organization. His various responsibilities through several different positions, included sales, marketing, operations, facility development, recruitment, hiring and performance planning.
During his career he attended numerous courses, seminars and workshops on a wide variety of topics. However, a seminar / workshop on “Performance Planning and Review” was by far the most valuable in improving management skills.
Following retirement in 1998, he assisted a couple of small businesses relative to Job Descriptions and Performance Appraisals. Those projects, along with other business contacts, led him to conclude that few small to medium sized businesses and organizations have implemented the kinds of programs he had been using to great advantage for more than 20 years. There is an obvious need for such a program, so he began developing a Performance Planning and Review Package adapted to the requirements of those businesses and organizations that had implemented little, if anything, in that area.
The program now being used in his work with a wide range of employers is based on practical, proven methods to improve productivity by having businesses meet their objectives through employees meeting their individual objectives. This is achieved through Job Descriptions, Orientation Checklists, Workplans, Appraisals, Employee Career Plans and the associated worksheets and guidelines.
Within the last 6 years, Lloyd has teamed with Darel Baker, from Keldar Leadership Solutions, to conduct a series of one-day seminars and workshops on Recruitment, Hiring and Performance Planning to many business and organization owners and managers, from Calgary to Fort McMurray. Also included in those sessions was an introduction to Lloyd’s “Hire for HIPPA, Train for Skill” concept, which illustrates the need to increase the emphasis on personal attributes in the hiring process.
Currently, Lloyd is collaborating with associates Darel Baker and Alain Gauthier to extend The Performance Planning Program and various seminars and workshops to a wider audience. New initiatives include making training and complete programs available to clients via the internet.
Since 2003, Lloyd has also been marketing Pre-Paid Legal Services and more recently, Identity Theft Shield, to further assist businesses and organizations to improve employee productivity. In what little “spare” time he has, Lloyd volunteers at a Senior’s Home in St. Albert and enjoys doing a variety of woodworking projects.
